I am a shy guy when it comes to asking out girls. There is this girl in my martial arts class that I am attracted to. She seems to be the shy type too. She doesn’t talk much unless I talk to her first. How can a shy guy (me) ask out this possible shy girl?|||just be open and honest, When you over come your shyness she will also over come hers. and then you two will be open and willling to talk without any nervousness

good luck|||Just say, “hi, would you like to get dinner after class?”|||Slip a note into her bag before class. When class is over……hold back. Watch as she goes for her bag, sees the note and looks back to find you. When she turns…..smile and wait for her reaction. I’m sure she’ll blush and duck her head if she’s shy. That’s the moment you need to walk up to her and say, “Would you?” Ok I’m getting chills……I so wanna know if this works!! :)|||he doesn’t and he stays alone all his life…sorry if I sound bitter, but I’ve been exactly in this situation for too long|||Just be all “Hey so I noticed you beat the crap outta your partner today, wanna take me on? As you may already know, I’m an expert in all the deadly attacks”. Then let her floor you, then be all “Okay okay, so maybe your a little good”. Then just start the conversation naturally, talking about how good her kung-fu grip is or whatever. Just be yourself and everything will flow naturally. And tell her your up for a rematch whenever she’s ready to get beat, and you were just testing her. But the next match is on!

Hey, I want to learn martial arts. I am 14 turning 15 in autum. I'm 5'9 and I'm flexible. I have a more balanced body type. If I can't overpower my opponent I'm typically faster and if I can't out run my opponent I can typically outpower them. My reflexes are kinda slow, but I can take a hit. I think my superb defense is a good quality of mine. I'm not sure if this a special ability, but when I fight, time seems to slow down for me. It's not much, but I am able to think clearly and anticipated my opponents techniques. I want take a martial art that is balanced with hands and feet along with power and speed. In addition to it I want an art that is practical in streetfights and the style regularly teaches sceanarios where it is closed spaces and the enemy fights very constrictively. I was in a Mcdojo when I was little and all scenarios, the opponent attacked loosely. I know this is pushing it, but I require a dojo that has good quality, yet isn't to expensive- money is stiff here, Thanks|||Recommended practical styles:

for standup: muay thai, kyokushen, shidokan karate, san shou, kickboxing.

for grappling: judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, sambo.

Learn at least one standup and one grappling martial art, and you'll be well prepared.|||Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is prob the most practical. It's a combat style, not a formal martial art. Or if you can find MMA (mixed martial arts). Jeet Kune Do is also very practical.

Kickboxing is very practical and toughens you up quite a bit, but on the street, you have to know grappling. No traditional style will teach you to fight as well as BJJ in my opinion.|||If you're interested in Military type styles then I recommend Krav Maga, quite good, simple direct and battle tested and proven.

For something more traditional personally I'd go with Wing Chun as this seems to cover everything that you have mentioned, a more "modernised" version of Wing Chun is JKD, essentially it's the same thing though.

Learning some grappling may help though if you learn Wing Chun, JKD or Krav Maga from a decent teacher they should teach you some ground fighting too and Wing Chun and JKD are both excellent at standing grappling which in my opinion is greatly overlooked by arts that focus on the ground game. Krav from what I understand doesn't like staying in contact.

If I were you as you are quite young start with Wing Chun to get a good grounding in your skills, try and stay away from typical Hong Kong styles if you can, after you have become reasonably proficient in Wing Chun (2 years of training, and make sure you actually train or the stuff won't work) then think about looking at other things to include such as JKD or Krav. All of these 3 arts have very similar ideas and principals so should go well together, but I believe that a good grounding in traditional Wing Chun will make you more ready for them in the long run, you may even find that you're Wing Chun will be enough without the other styles, I personally like the training methods of Krav but don't like the techniques as much as Wing Chun so this is why I train both.|||krav maga is the best of both worlds, it teaches you worst case scenarios where the guy has the knife or gun in your face not in his pants across the street. also it teaches you ground work where you are on the bottom and he is on top. it is very practical and is used by the israeli army, it has become more widely known and is very very practical. it is a no nonsense self-defense system. there are some great krav maga demonstration videos on youtube that you should look into its all very quick and powerful.|||American Kempo is what your looking for bro. Not to say you should only look into that. But it's good in the street and its what the marines use. I just started taking classes and I’m

I’m learning from a ret. sergeant from the marines. It's down and dirty, it's not what looks good, it's just what works. Make sure when you find a school it's not watered down crap that’s flashy like so many of the Americanized tae kwon do schools. I've tryed lots of diffrent styles and seen my fair share of Olympic style or flash fu schools. And finding real schools can sometimes be hard. Keep your nose to the grind and look for serious "self defense style" schools that teach kempo, san soo kung fu, or jeet kune doe. It should be a practical way to get going on the right track.|||Try kajukenbo or CHA 3 kenpo. Do some research on any style before you start though.

i need help picking out an activity. it's for a person that has low vision. so the requirements are: not a lot of fast paced action (movement) to follow, seated or standing (not walking around), one-person following the instructor (as opposed to groups involving hands on contact).

i thought of some form of martial arts that isn't hands on or some form of meditation/yoga type thing. if there are programs that are like what i need, please let me know what they are about or called and i'll look it up. all other suggestions welcome (except the stupid ones about being blind that someone will inevitably post…tape your eyes shut for a day, then we'll talk). and the person is in very good physical condition and is still young, if that matters.

thanks.|||I would suggest meditation.

A blind person always suffers in silence due to his physical incapacity. Meditation will help him to get over this.

If he really concentrates on meditation and is able to open his chi channels and open his third eye he will not need the real physical eyes. He will able to see the world more than others.

To start meditation try,

http://www.bswa.org/modules/icontent/

They have a free book named 'The Basic Method of Meditation'. Get a print out of it. Follow every word in it.|||how about chess? Meditation and yoga are also excellent ideas. Drawing or painting?|||Ti chi is slow moving martial arts, very good for the body.

what do guys think if someone who is pretty, half asian half western looks, used to model, used to DJ in a club, can sing, smart, down to earth, have a good sense of humour, not the typical girlie type but doesn't act like a tomboy, sporty and also into martial arts like capoeira and kickboxing, loves sex as guys do but only sticks to one man for that and good in bed, independent and somehow mysterious? then this someone became your girlfriend….would you be still cheating on her? if so are you willing to lose this kind of gf?|||Men are ridiculous. Think of this: Halle Berry was cheated on.

Sort of makes you wonder what's going on in that brain of theirs.|||never|||I will not cheat on. And marry her as soon as possible. This is the type of gal i want. And i also want to be the special one that she desire.|||god damn, if a chick like this exist then that just crashed my views of relationships. if i could come across someone like that, aint never, cant, wont cheat on her|||The only things that are important in a relationship are trust, honesty, and faithfullness. These are the root of a good relationship, If one of those are missing then the relationship is doomed to fail. Ultamately meaning that no, it wasn't meant to be.|||I wouldn't cheat on my girlfriend period, irregardless of her qualities. Now if I no longer desired her, I would break it off and find someone new.|||No. If that is you. Go find a guy that will not cheat on you.|||But what is the personality like?

All of the other attributes are wonderful, but if she is like a wolverine on PCP, who cares?

If everything is as it is stated, there has to be something more to cause cheating|||if the feelings between the 2 people are strong and true enofe, then cheating isent an option in my book. if you really love some one you would never cheat.

All the things you listed are a bouns with to what sounds like an awsome, fun person. the cheating is someone who dosent respect her and who is is. their are alot of dirt bags out their who dont know a good thing when it hits them in the junk(p.s. thats what the girl should do, round house kick to the junk)|||I don't cheat.|||I wouldn't cheat on my girlfriend even if she doesn't have any of those skills/talents. Because i feel ashamed.

Besides, only the weak cheat on others, would such a girl end up with a weak guy?! They are not the same type.

Losing someone is not a matter of will, its a mistake or a bad turn of events. It may happen to anyone.|||not a chance 2 good to lose|||It is not the things you do or do not do nor the things you are or are not that will "cause" someone to cheat on you. It is their own weakness not to be honest in a relationship. The person was already interested in all those things or they would not have started a relationship in the first place. If they do not lose a person like that when they cheat, that would be a weakness of the one who was cheated on.|||i'm married, so maybe my opinion is not as interesting as a bachelor's opinion –

Any dude lucky enough to date a girl with that impressive list of credentials would be a complete and utter idiot to stray.

But, for the girl (maybe you, maybe not), dudes like the chase. Just because you like sex a lot doesn't mean you need to give it out a lot. Hot girls still get cheated on because they give away their virtue to the wrong guys who obviously don't deserve them.

Find the guy who deserves you first, then get married to them, then have a sexual relationship with them. The time you take to get to know him, plus the amount of time he spends chasing you to that point will mean that you have set the building blocks in place for a long, productive, and enduring relationship.

Girls are attracted to strength. Work on those muscles (but don't go overboard because after a certain point it becomes a turn-off and they think the guy thinks too much of himself).

Sports like football are seriously appealing to girls, but unfortunately most people who play them are kind of brain dead. Swimming is OK and good exercise. If you're an individualist you could take up one of the martial arts. They have a mystique that can attract the more discerning type of female and girls obviously like a guy who can protect himself and them.

They often go for wealth as well so it helps if you're rich. They are much more practical than guys (some would say materialistic).

Girls don't go so much on looks as guys do. In fact if a guy is very good-looking it's sometimes a turn-off for them, because they think he's vain (which he often is). If someone is the "top dog" girls will go for him. Even an ugly guy can make it with pretty girls, if he's the kind of guy that other guys defer to.

Girls are into guys with status. If other guys look up to the guy and defer to him, that is seriously appealing to them. So work hard at school because those losers who laugh at the smart guys are the ones who will be serving them, and their girlfriends, hamburgers in ten years time.

Girls like guys to smile at them a lot. It reminds them of their Dad smiling at them when they were a baby. They also like guys who talk to them about whatever they are into (the girls I mean). Also they like guys with low-pitched voices because it is a sign of male authority.

You will know if a girl likes you because she will brush her hair away from her face when she talks to you and she may blush a little. It's a dead giveaway and they can't help it.

A good way to get to know a girl is indirectly, by chatting to her girl friends. But don't give the friend the impression that you fancy the friend if you don't, because that's not nice.

Hope this helps.|||I'm white, nerdy, not the strongest, and poor. She likes me for who i am, not what i have or where i am on the "social ladder". And all my girlfriend's friends speak Spanish (which i'm not that good at). So there you go… weirdos in every breed, every rule is meant to be broken, an exception, etc. etc… whatever you want to call it.

She's 20, i'm 18.|||i am a girl. and what you've said is rather true. but when i am talking to the guy i like, i don really have the habit of brushing hair off my face or blushing. lol. i seriously don blush. i will like, purposely give him a very cold look. and talk to him coldly. where in my heart i feel like grabbing him and hugging him so much(:|||i thought it was cool of you to reprint this. I found it very interesting, thank you.

and alot of its contents are very well put and the likeness to us women(some of us)are not mistaken, lol ….someone was taking notes!!!!|||Girls like sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made.

Silat is a form of Malay martial art of Self-Defence. I need to find out its origin, types, parts, steps, and its relevance in today's life. It'll be really helpful if you know links to good websites that are reliable, is not WIKIPEDIA, and has the information I need. The more the better. And I'm really trying to lookf ro webpages in Malay, so I don't have to translate so much, But English texts are alright as well. Thanks!|||In Malay: http://www.persisi.org/

Since Silat is an umbrella term covering many styles, it is not possible to give a single history. Some of the arts are very old (1000 years?), and some were developed less than 50 years ago. Also, as with other arts, the history of Silat is somewhat unclear. There is a mixture of indigenous techniques along with techniques borrowed from Chinese Wu Shu and Indian arts such as Kalaripayit.

Silat practitioners will often prepare themselves mentally to take great punishment from sticks, swords and knifes. The spiritual training can go far beyond that and is intended to create harmony within the practitioner as well.
